Molimar Tax Consulting Service was built on hard work, sacrifice, and a deep commitment to the immigrant community. Our founder, Barbara R., graduated from the University of Nicaragua with a degree in Business Administration before immigrating to the United States in search of opportunity and stability for her family.
Determined to rebuild her life through education and service, Barbara earned her Tax Preparer License in 2001 and Molimar Tax Consulting Service was born. Through dedication and integrity, she help hundreds in the community gain ITINs and complinat tax filings. With over 20 years of invaluable experience helping hardworking families navigate financial challenges, language barriers, and complex tax situations. This hands-on experience shaped her mission: to create a place where people could receive honest, compassionate, bilingual financial support without judgment.
In the 24 years since, Barbara has become one of the most trusted tax professionals in the DMV area. She has personally completed an estimated 50,000+ approved tax returns, helped reverse thousands of audits, and contributed to millions of dollars in refunds returned to her clients. Her expertise, persistence, and heart for service have made a life-changing impact on generations of families.
Barbara’s work extends far beyond tax season. As a strong advocate for immigrant rights, women’s rights, and community empowerment, she has partnered with organizations such as Takoma Crossroads to host outreach events, educational workshops, and resource drives. Her dedication has strengthened and uplifted the very community that first welcomed her.
Today, Molimar Tax remains proudly family-run, with seasonal team members hired directly from our local community — creating jobs, mentorship opportunities, and a welcoming environment that feels like home. Many of our clients have been with us for years; we’ve watched their children grow into adults, open businesses, study in college, and build brighter futures.
